Maisto Elite Transport Ford Model A

Hello guys. Today, I'm sharing you a haul I found during my stay in Qatar for holiday vacation. This is from AllStars Elite Transport by Maisto.

I admit this is not something I usually buy but when I saw it, I know I want it haha.

Before, I was not a fan of rat rods. I didn't like them. But when I started to do customs and saw some works of great artists, I learned to appreciate them and in fact, I already tried to build one.

The shark face on side is a very popular design for the rat rod Ford Model A. What I just don't like here is it is just a decal and it doesn't look realistic to me haha. I would appreciate it more if it's painted. Well, you just get what you paid for.

I love the color scheme they use here. Yellow and blue with zamac body and white walls is very appealing and very rat rod - ish

And as a truck fan, I considered buying this because of the trailer. But I think a tow truck would be better also for a vintage look.

And because I really love these castings, I bought an extra one for a future project so that I can make my custom version of this, a purely painted version :D

That's all for now. I hope you liked it :)

Banpresto Pirate King Luffy

Hello everyone! I hope you're enjoying the weekend like I do :D maybe you're guessing I enjoyed it because I have a new bought toy. Well, you're partially right because I indeed have a new toy but, I didn't buy it. It's my friend's gift to me :)

On December, a friend of mine went to Japan to visit her family. I jokingly told her to bring me some pasalubong / souvenir from there and in return, I'll give her something also from Qatar haha so that was the deal.

Yesterday, I went to their house with another friend of ours to help her out with her thesis because she's graduating from college but the supposedly "mock defense" ended up as our bonding time... ah.. that's another story. She suddenly gave me something telling me it's her pasalubong and I was surprised and felt a bit embarrassed because I actually forgot our deal! Not that I didn't buy anything for her, I just left it home haha. I admit it to her and promise to bring it next time we meet hahaha. Thanks my friend :D

I thought she's going to give me a keychain, an Anime keychain perhaps but I'm glad she knows about my One Piece collection so she gave this one to me :D

Pirate King Monkey D. Luffy vinyl figure by Banpresto. It is approximately 3 - 4 inches tall and believe me, the details are so... just look at it hahaha

There are 3 parts for the figure: the head (yes it's removable), body and Luffy's hat. There is also the stand in the package.

Be the judge of the detail :D

Side view. Again, check out the details - yeah I'm very enthusiastic about this figure hahaha! Apologies for that *ehem*

And to show my enthusiasm, here's a dramatic photo in monochrome.

I would've love this picture more if I was able to make the straw hat flying or in motion but I don't know how to do it or how to set it up. Maybe next time I'll try that haha!

Okay so that's all for now guys. I hope you enjoyed reading this post :) 'til next time :)

P.S. I just remembered my last post was also about toys I received as a gift and this one now... Haha it seems I don't need to spend now to buy toys eh? LOL. I'm grateful for all these wonderful gifts and most of all I'm very grateful that I have such wonderful friends :)

Christmas Gifts 2012

I just realized that I haven't posted the presents I received last Christmas and of course, I'll only post the toys here haha. I think this is also my way to show gratitude for these gifts and I am very happy that my friends and family support my hobby :D

The first one I got is from a family friend in Qatar. I'm not really sure how they learned about my interest in vintage cars. I'm so surprised when they gave me this. A Maisto 1:24 1967 Volkswagen 1600 Squareback. Seeing this car reminds me of pictures of the old days though, I wasn't born yet at that time LOL.

It has opening doors which most model in this scale has. I also love the rims they are very classic.

And like the VW Beetle, the trunk is in front. It's just frustrating that Maisto didn't add too much detail on the interior parts here.

But I thought it would be a nice ride for the boss.

The next one is my cousin's gift to me. This one is so funny because she was really excited to give this to me and she kept on telling that it is for my collection. When I asked what is it, she said it is from Star Trek but she's not familiar with the character. I started laughing because I didn't even watched Star Trek and generally speaking, I don't know anything about Star Trek haha. I remembered I saw some of these figures on sale in a toy store so I told her about that but she denied that it is on sale LOL!

Anyway, it's the thought that counts so it doesn't matter to me who this character is and of course it is my cousin's present haha so I'm definiltely keeping it in my collection... if I don't, she won't give me another toy present next Christmas. Errr..

The package includes the figure (Original Spock), his base, extra hand, and another base.

This is the back part of the packaging. I don't know anyone of the characters LOL. But that Transporter Room that you can build when you complete the series is so cool. It reminds me of the Iron Man Armory.

So that's all. These are two toy presents I received last Christmas hahaha always like a kiddo.. I hope you enjoyed reading too.

P.S. If you noticed, I changed my watermark because until now I'm trying to improve it hahaha. And also I tried using a blue backdrop for a change. I would love to try other colors next time as well :)

Thanks for visiting Hobby Dumpy. 'til next time :)

Wreck-It Ralph

Hi guys, I just want to share my newest toy and also my newest Disney favorite, Wreck-it Ralph! I just got it yesterday and I'm very happy that's it's available here locally I don't need to find it online. I already bought the two main characters and here they are:

Ralph, he is the bad guy from the game Wreck-it Ralph but in reality, he really wants to be the good guy.

This is the back side of the packaging. I'd definitely get the Fix It Felix Jr. next time. The Hero's Duty Ralph seems the hardest to find here. A piece to hunt :D

Vanellope from the game Sugar Rush. She's a glitch character but eventually she'll find out that she's the main character of Sugar Rush.

Back side of the packaging. I'm not sure if I should also get the other two other racers though.

Okay I think I'm done here. I won't unbox them for now because I'm too lazy for a review hahaha! Maybe when I already have the Fix It Felix so stay tuned LOL.

Thanks for looking :)

HW Mystery Machine

As a collector, finding the item (toy) that you're looking for by yourself is like finding a treasure even for others it's just a regular piece of metal.

Last week, Pop, Mom and I went to the mall with our friends which supposed to be a road trip but it turned out to be a mall hopping. At the department store, the first section you'll find at the entrance is the toy section so the first thing I did was look for toys! Haha but.....! not for me but, for my nieces. At first, I didn't find anything that will suit my taste but when I went back, I spotted these three treasures that I wouldn't just find in our local stores - means the competition of treasure hunting in our country is tight LOL!

I'm quite happy that I acquired these three Mystery Machines and I'm planning to sell my extras $$$ LOL.

Okay that's all for now. 'til next time ;)

Adventure Time Deluxe Finn

First off, I'd like to greet everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! For the record, this is also my blog's first new year celebration and I'm very happy that it's still alive and... blogging! LOL.

In my last post, I mentioned that I can't share any toys to you for the meantime because I left all of them in the Philippines as I am on a vacation now with my family here in Doha. Although I missed blogging so much, I just looked at it as an advantage to me as I am actually saving a lot because there are no toys around. Well, that's what I thought.

This morning, my toy-diet program has been broken. This is when my dad brought me to Toys R Us in Doha! I am already aware about the Toys R Us here because they were telling me about it and they even bought me toys  from there. It's just, when I came here, the idea of toy hunting is not in my top list... and now... my freedom from toys is all gone LOL! Not that I don't want it :))

So here is my very first toy haul for 2013... A ten inches Adventure Time Deluxe Finn!

I had hard time choosing because what I was really looking for is Jake but he's only available in 2 inch size. I just gave the salesperson our phone number so they could inform us when the 5 inch Jake will be available again. They said he's the best seller :(

This Finn figure is also nice. Rather than getting the smaller 5 inches, I chose this one. Details are good as well as the articulations.

And this is the reason why I bought it hahaha! The third one is my favorite LOL.

The package also includes two accessories, Finn's bag and a sword.

I guess I may just buy the two inch Jake and put him inside the bag (light bulb!)

Finn's arms are flexible (rubber) just like in the cartoon.

His hips can be rotated.

And same with his head.

"I'm not afraid of the ocean..."

All in all, this figure is really good.. but not a perfect one for it's price. I'm happy to get this for the new year. I hope I'll be able also to acquire Jake soon :D

Again, happy new year everyone. Best wishes! :D

Merry Christmas 2012!

Hello! Merry Christmas to all! Yeahhhh It's quite late for the celebration but it's better than not to greet you LOL!

It's been a while since my last post and maybe you wonder why.. it's because I have no access to my toys right now. I'm on a vacation with my family here in Qatar and I left my toys in the Philippines. I also forgot the supposed to be my featured toy for the month! That happens when you do not prepare your stuff ahead of time.

Well the good news is, a friend of ours gave me a vintage car as a Christmas present! Big YAHOOO! Another addition to my classics :D I'll post it later to share it to you :)

BTW, my eyes are feasting with lots of supercars and 4x4 offroad vehicles here in Qatar. They are everywhere! Hahahaha.

Again, Merry Christmas to all. God bless you and your family :)

Pullback Action Shelby Cobra

Hi guys! I hope you're doing fine :) I know most of you are busy right now in preparing for the upcoming holidays :D well, same here hahaha.

Since this is the month for the kids like me... (What??) LOL! I'll be sharing this wonderful find I had few months back which I think is worth keeping.

Toys with pullback action is a common gift when I was a kid... well, I think until now haha.

So I have this gift to myself - a plastic Shelby Cobra 427 that has a pullback action. The scale is almost close to a 1:64 which I think is quite rare but what really caught my attention is the driver and his.... is that a dog? LOL!

I got it from an online seller. It is in played condition but still good. No broken parts, the wheels are perfectly rolling and the pullback action is still functioning.

As a Cobra collector, it's a nice piece for me because it's not common to have this model in non-diecast.

That's all for now. I hope you liked it :D

Thanks for viewing ;)

Mod #10 Ford Model A Yakult

I really wanted to try decal application for the longest time but I lack the materials to start with it. Recently though, I was able to acquire everything I need for the project so yesterday, with all excitement, I made my very first decal project :)

The victim here is a Ford Model A by Lledo. I don't know what Vimto is until I searched on Google that it is a softdrinks I guess it's just not available here in our country or maybe it is but haven't seen one! Anyway... I just thought it would be better if I transform this to something I am very familiar with.

So I ended up creating a Yakult delivery. Yakult is my favorite drink ever since though, it's not really a juice drink but probiotic milk-like product by the Japanese.

*borrowed picture from the internet

Here's the finished product :)

Oh.. the "Okay ka ba tiyan?" which means "Is your tummy okay?" is the tag line being used by Yakult in their commercials here.

The decal application is not as hard as expected. You really have to be careful in applying it, though, because it has a tendency to break or be torn.

As this was my first try, it is expected that my work will not be perfect. You'll see bubbles that formed if you look very closely, as well as some wrinkles and creases.

All in all, I'm very happy with the outcome. I'll certainly do more decal projects next time to improve it :D

Thanks for looking :)

Express yourself figure

Howdy everyone! I hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did :D

My birthday is actually today! Yeaaaaah! And I'm very happy that I had the opportunity to celebrate it with my family and friends :)

And as a present to myself for my special day, I bought earphones for my MP3 'coz the old one is broken. And of course, mall-ing isn't complete without checking out what's in the toy stores.. you know.... it's like a routine hahaha. When I saw a Disney Princess "watergame" I thought my niece would love it so I bought it for her. But before going to the counter, my attention was caught by something that I know would be a perfect present for myself aside from the earphones :D

A Mickey Express Yourself Figure! This is manufactured by PlayKit Philippines.

I always want to buy it before but the price is too high for me, but this time it's on sale! And guess what? It's the only one left! It's really meant to be a birthday present for myself LOL!

Some part needs cleaning though, it'll be painted someday :)

Now the thing is, what Mickey would look like? A pig mouse? Polka dots Mickey? Macho Mickey? Nah.. Let's see. I still have to decide so stay tuned :D

freeing the jadas

As a carded / sealed collector, it's not easy for me to decide whether to set the toy loose or not. It's feels like removing some details in the presentation and decreasing the value of the item. But there are times that I want to remove them from their blisters and take pictures of them and I thought I'd appreciate them more as loose.

So yesterday, with the help of my friend, we freed my Jada Cobras :D finally after the long wait they are now ready to be displayed as loose in my cab. It really feels great when you can touch them, feel them and smell the not so good smell of their paint hahaha!

Here are some pics I took during the session hahaha

HURRAH!!!

More beautiful as loose indeed :D

I'll post the "studio" pictures next time.

'til then :)
