Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

Disney has become part of our childhood. Most of our favorite cartoon characters are from their creations. I can't remember how many times I've watched Beauty and the Beast, played with my Mickey and Donald toys, and those Disney's story books I've read before I went to sleep. They just made our wonderful childhood days very memorable--oh how I miss childhood... that's why I'll always love toys :)

When Walt Disney and Pixar merged, it only meant one thing to us (kids): more fun!

One of my favorite cartoons to date is Toy Story by Pixar (they haven't merged with Disney yet for the first and second movie). The story of that movie is really something that a child would really love. It's like..."Whoa! My toys might really talk when they're alone!"

Since I've been into a LEGO craze lately, here's another Minifigures by them. This time, it comes with a fridge magnet as their stand.

Here's my Disney's Toy Story LEGO Minifigures :)

The good thing with these Minifigures is the magnet can be very useful haha! I removed them from the magnet stand and put the magnets on the fridge.

Sheriff Woody. He acts as the leader of Andy's toys.

The space ranger, Buzz Lightyear - Woody's best pal. He's my no. 1 favorite! :D

And the squeeze toy Alien. There are supposed to be three of them together but only one is included in the pack.

These next toys should have been posted a while back. I acquired them last year when I was in a mall with my friend when suddenly we found some bargain capsule toys. I got hyped up when I found out what's inside those capsules so I dug in for the treasures! LOL!

These cars are made by Takara Tomy. They're made of plastic and approximately 1 1/2 inches.

I got Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. and Alien, Buzz, and Woody from Toy Story.

And what can you say about this picture?? The Minifigs just look perfect with their 4-wheel counterparts :D

Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc. Unfortunately I don't have their Minifigures.. Well, I haven't seen one anyway. I don't think LEGO has created any.

One thing I noticed, Sully really does look like the Philippine Jeepney, if you have seen one. I wonder if it was inspired by that.

And that's all for today. :)

'til the next post ;)

LEGO: Gandalf Arrives

Hello fellow toy collectors and visitors :) hope you're doing fine. I just can't wait to share to you what I bagged today!

Finally, he arrived! Well, literally haha. I couldn't wait to see the Lord of the Rings series by LEGO. It's a much awaited brick set for the LOTR fans - like me and LEGO builders - not so like me LOL!

Gandalf Arrives scene is on the first movie (The Fellowship of the Ring) of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. This is when Gandalf went to the Shire to visit his friend Bilbo who is celebrating his 111th birthday.

Gandalf's horse and carriage full of fireworks.

Gandalf the Grey and Frodo Baggins.

The good thing with this horse Lego brick is it has articulation now. I remember before, the Lego horse doesn't have - if I'm not mistaken, any articulation. Now, legs at the back is articulated and also its neck.

Frodo, before he saw Gandalf coming, he was reading a book under a tree.

My friend thinks Gandalf's Minifigure is hilarious.. I think it's cute!

Things inside Gandalf's carriage. I think that letter is for Bilbo (sorry I forgot!) - Frodo's uncle.

And they're journey begins...

National Geographic Megafactories LEGO

One word: AMAZING!!!!!

After I posted my previous entry about Mega Bloks vs. Lego, I searched for news and articles about Lego just to learn why they still have that design after so many years, also out of sheer curiosity.

I remembered that there was a thread before in our forum discussing about the National Geographic documentary on the history of Lego, so I tried looking for that video on Youtube.

Luckily, the video is available and I think this is worth sharing to you guys as LEGO's become part of our childhood for most of us.

Watching this factory works makes me dream to be a part of this company too. This is a wonderland for those avid fans! That includes me as always, though my Lego bricks are not with me anymore... How I wish I took care of them :( I hope they're in good hands now.

It's just nice to see how the company became a success after all those years with the ups and downs they encountered and how they survived the changing world of technology when kids prefer to play with their computers! - Oh I haven't mentioned here that I am very saddened by what this technology has done to our children now. Some kids nowadays don't even know what Snakes and Ladders is!

I am very amazed (I am sure you are amazed too) on how each brick is created and how accurate it should be.. and not to mention those big robotic machines! ....and did I hear saliva test?

Oh.. and btw, I shouldn't compare Mega Bloks with LEGO. I just realized that they have different styles and LEGO is happy with what they have and I guess they will be sticking to it :D

I hope you enjoyed watching as much as I do. We have more things to discover :D

'til next time :)

Lego LOTR coming soon!

It is confirmed! Lego has finally come to produce Lord of the Rings minifigures!

Well, I've been hearing about this since last year but I thought 'em to be just rumors, some said it is their competitor that will produce the minifigs (oops.. if it is them then it won't be called minigifs! LOL). And it is just now that I gave time to check this on web - oh laziness! Anyway, I'm glad that it is true after all!

I am very excited about these minifigures. It is just recently that I got hooked on LOTR. And as a toy collector, I always want to have a model/replica/souvenir of my favorite movie/cars/characters so this news by Lego is a much awaited event for me.

I have to save and prepare my budget for this one. It won't be happy days for my wallet LOL!
