DCPH 8th Anniversary Swapmeet 2012

Finally a Swapmeet near my place! :)

8th year anniversary of our club held in SM Southmall, Las Pinas yesterday, May 06, 2012. It's just a 30-minute ride from my house and considering the fare cost, it is really a great advantage for us "south people" LOL! Not to be selfish but, I hope there'll be more Swapmeets on this part of the metro haha.

Here are some photos taken from the event:

History of diecast.

Porsches!

More diecast...

And more people...

Trophies for the outstanding members of our club. I wonder if there will be a chance that my name will be written on one of them?

The awardees :)

Though I did not bag a trophy, I got myself a reward for...... being present in the Swapmeet :D

Courtesy of a DCPH member in U.S., Mr. Leo a.k.a. cocacolacars.

Taddaaaah! A Matchbox Texaco Ford pickup truck (Joe's Roadside Service). The scale is approximately 1:32.

With Certificate of Authenticity.

Fair details. One thing that frustrates me about is the plastic tires. In the picture I thought it's rubber until I got the actual item.

Another thing is those equipment that aren't painted. I will be tempted to just paint them myself :)

The price is very reasonable for the fact that it is a larger scale and I bet this is not easy to find ;)

This is just one of the hauls I ordered online. I'm still in the process of paying them LOL!

Oh btw, I finally bought new batteries for my camera yahoooo! :) I intended it for this event. And now I can take pictures with a smile ^________^

Thanks for looking.

Happy hunting everyone ;)

Matchbox Model "A" Ford

Hi guys! Yes I'm here again (I said in my last post that I'll be off for a while but I think one week is long enough LOL) I just can't help myself to blog today as I have opened some old hauls and I can't just let this pass without sharing it :D

Oh, I haven't bought a battery for my camera yet so they are still low quality pictures but I tried to enhance them using an editor.

Okay, let's talk about trucks... not just trucks.. those good ol'...

Model "A" truck by Matchbox.

This one is a gift or in our club, we call it "RAOK" - Random act of kindness, by Mr. Emil or bruticus. Such a generous man :D this is made in Macau - written on the base.

And a special edition Matchbox Toy Show in Hershey, PA.

Set them free weeeee! haha

Kellogg's Rice Krispies - my first Model A. I got it from one of the DCPH Swapmeets I attended and at that time, I had no idea what kind of truck this was. I just loved its vintage look.

And this one with Philadelphia football team logo is my favorite, though I'm not a fan of them nor of football. I think this one is rare. I found it in a cheap diecast store waiting for its owner, or maybe waiting for me?

Group pic.

Whoa! they have a new home now :) I got this wooden display case last month. The price is reasonable so I bought it. It can hold 24 cars and my trucks here just fit right in. 20 spaces to go! Hahaha!

Why did I use Mr. Bean as the background? Not really sure but it's the first thing I got so he's there LOL!

Thanks for looking. Hope you enjoyed the show ;)

Collecticon 2011

Since I failed to attend this year's ToyCon at SM Megamall, I made this date available just to attend Collecticon 2011 event at Robinsons Midtown Mall.

Though I did not bag much hauls, it was a fun and "toy-ful" afternoon for me. It's also my first time to attend the Collecticon event that's why it is a memorable experience :)

Here are the few hauls I got:

My "looking for" Johnny Lightning Terlingua Classic Gold Shelby Cobra

Product of impulsive buying. This is not my line but I want to have a bumblebee.. (the main reason is, it's cheap)

A vintage looking Hotwheels pickup. Instant weathering effect, eh? For mod practicing purposes ;)

Matchbox Isuzu Amigo pickup

And my favorite catch for today, a small glass display :)

Since it's small, why not put those Minis in? :)
