Mr. Bean and his Mini
Lights on!
Fresh from outer space, let's all welcome...... Mr. Bean!.............. and Teddy.............and.......
his Mini! :)
Yeaaaaah! After so many many many months of being a "work-in-progress," finally, I can now say it is done LOL!
To avoid any unwanted happenings especially to the car and also to protect the paint, I placed it in an acrylic case.
You may want to see how it was done:

DCPH 8th Anniversary Swapmeet 2012
Finally a Swapmeet near my place! :)
8th year anniversary of our club held in SM Southmall, Las Pinas yesterday, May 06, 2012. It's just a 30-minute ride from my house and considering the fare cost, it is really a great advantage for us "south people" LOL! Not to be selfish but, I hope there'll be more Swapmeets on this part of the metro haha.
Here are some photos taken from the event:
History of diecast.
Porsches!
Though I did not bag a trophy, I got myself a reward for...... being present in the Swapmeet :D
Courtesy of a DCPH member in U.S., Mr. Leo a.k.a. cocacolacars.
Taddaaaah! A Matchbox Texaco Ford pickup truck (Joe's Roadside Service). The scale is approximately 1:32.
Fair details. One thing that frustrates me about is the plastic tires. In the picture I thought it's rubber until I got the actual item.
The price is very reasonable for the fact that it is a larger scale and I bet this is not easy to find ;)
This is just one of the hauls I ordered online. I'm still in the process of paying them LOL!
Oh btw, I finally bought new batteries for my camera yahoooo! :) I intended it for this event. And now I can take pictures with a smile ^________^
Thanks for looking.
Happy hunting everyone ;)

More diecast...
And more people...
Trophies for the outstanding members of our club. I wonder if there will be a chance that my name will be written on one of them?
The awardees :)

Another thing is those equipment that aren't painted. I will be tempted to just paint them myself :)

Mod #5 Mr. Bean's Mini WIP part 3
Whew! Sorry guys for the long wait. It's been long lazy months since I last did customs! It's frustrating for me to realize this project has been pending for a long time. So today I decided to post the very slow progress. I can say this is 90% done.
I want it to be a close replica of Mr. Bean's ride so I didn't stop with just replicating the paint but I added other designs too to make it just like the real car.
Detailed the headlights.
And taddaaaa! :-)

One of those is the funny padlock.
The material used was an old top up card filled with epoxy and wire for the connector and the hook of the padlock.
Detailed the headlights.
And taddaaaa! :-)
But this is just 90% done. I want to put a decal for the car plate just like Mr. Bean's and some other stuff to add. I might do a wheel swap too if I find better wheels.

Mod #5 Mr. Bean's Mini WIP part 2
Work is still in progress.
Here are some steps I did:
Painting.
The Bean Mini's color is somewhat yellow-green but I think it is more yellowish... But because I am just using spray paints, I cannot mix a yellow and a green paint. So I tried something else.
First, I coated it with green paint, maybe 2-3 layers. Since green is darker than yellow, if I coat it with yellow on top, it will just turn to yellow green . Hurrah!
Then I just applied yellow paint until I got the color that I desire. :)
Then the hood. The famous Mr. Bean's ride has a black matte hood so here I painted the hood with flat black :)
Then for the roof, this is the disappointing part here because I have to paint the roof separately. Burago made it a plastic.... how awful. Anyway, I did the same with the roof but I first coated it with primer because it's plastic - glossy.
BTW, the green paint is leaf green. There are various shades of green but I think this one made a good combination with yellow for the Bean's Mini.
